(In)fertility
Primary infertility
According to the CDC, 1 in 5, or 19%, of heterosexual women between the ages of 15-49 in the US, who have not given birth before, are unable to get pregnant after a year of trying.
The WHO says 15% of reproductive aged couples worldwide are affected by infertility.
1 in 8 couples will have difficulty conceiving.
Secondary infertility
It is believed that the rate of secondary infertility is the same as primary, with approximately 12% of women who have given birth before having difficulty conceiving. According to the CDC, 11% of couples in the US will struggle to have another child. This accounts for four million families and half of infertility cases.
Why should I hire a fertility doula?
Hiring a fertility doula who is educated in natural family planning and familiar with assisted reproductive technologies means that regardless of what your journey to baby looks like, you will have constant support from someone who is invested in your emotional well being and dedicated to advocating for a holistic approach to your care.
