Prenatal

Why would you need a doula before giving birth?

What’s a birth plan? What are your birth preferences? Where do you want to give birth? Should you choose a midwife or an ObGyn? Who will your baby’s pediatrician be? What about childbirth education? Newborn care classes? Baby must haves? What to pack in your hospital bag? What about in the baby’s hospital bag? How to prepare for your fourth trimester? What’s the latest and greatest baby gear, or is it even necessary? How to set up the nursery? What bottles or pacifiers should you buy? What about baby carriers? Car seats? Diaper bag?

I get it. Having a baby can be incredibly overwhelming! Its nice to have someone who can help you narrow down what’s important to you and your family. I can help you be as prepared as possible, teaching you about what to expect throughout pregnancy, during labor, and into the fourth trimester. I can help you and your spouse feel ready to bring your baby home, or if this isn’t your first - I can help you as you add a little one to your family dynamic.

Society tells us so much about what we “should” do during pregnancy, what baby “needs,” or how things “should” go. There is an overwhelming amount of resources, blogs, influencers, and books, not to mention well meaning family and friends, who all think they know what is best. Let me help you find what works for you and your family in a way that helps you remain true to yourself.

“It’s amazing, the mentality shift that occurs in pregnancy. All of a sudden, you want to be good to yourself.” — Elisabeth Hasselbeck
